The Swan Tavern - 77 Gracechurch Street, London EC3V 1LY Monument

The Swan is a beautiful two bar pub set in an alley that leads to the equally beautiful
Leadenhall Market. The downstairs marble topped bar is probably the smallest bar in
London but this doesn’t stop the thirsty hoards spilling out into the passage.

The Swan Tavern is a fine example of a traditional Edwardian City of London pub with it’s marble bars and cosy atmosphere.

The downstairs bar is surely one of the smallest in England and is the home of barman Alfonso who has been pulling pints here for nearly 20 years!

Alfonso, who, as well as quenching the thirst of thousands, keeps the bar looking immaculate. He is to The Swan what the ravens are to the Tower of London. Who knows what will happen should he ever leave?

Upstairs is a slightly larger bar with an open fire that looks down upon the passing hoards below. Small and cosy, it’s usually filled with thirsty business people from nearby.

In 2009, The Swan won the coveted title of Fuller’s City Pub of the Year.

All our food is delivered daily, fresh from Borough Market, Smithfield Market or Neal’s Yard and prepared on site. Simple, traditional English pub grub that’s never seen a deep fat fryer!
